The Seán Doyle Painting Contractors carried out all painting and decorating works in Dun Laoghaire’s Award Winning four-storey €36.6m LexIcon library and cultural centre near the harbour’s seafront. The building includes several reading rooms, a children’s library, a 100-seater performance space and a cafe. We used Protective 101 sealer to enhance the natural appearance of concrete in line with the architects vision.
Protective 101 works as a moisture vapor permeable along with providing internal insulation value and UV resistance. It’s a non-toxic, non-flammable sealant minimizing environmental impact, providing better public spaces.
The Dún Laoghaire library, despite much controversy was recognized at RIAI Irish Architecture Awards, winning awards for best culture and best public building. The architect is David Naessens and was built by SISK. Irish Times Report
