Seán Doyle Painting Contractors played a crucial role in the redevelopment of the locally listed Town Hall Annexe in East Ham, originally built in 1939. This project involved a significant transformation of the existing 3-storey building, including a change of use from commercial to residential, and a vertical extension that added two additional floors, making it a 5-storey building. The redevelopment also featured extensive cut and carve structural alterations to accommodate 40 residential apartments.
As part of this major project, Seán Doyle Painting Contractors provided expert painting and decorating services across the entire development. Their work encompassed 40 residential units, which included studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments, as well as duplex units. Additionally, Seán Doyle Painting Contractors undertook the painting and decorating of all associated corridors and stairwells, ensuring the entire building was finished to the highest standard.
In keeping with the 1930s Art Deco detailing of the original building, the painting work was carefully executed to highlight the building’s distinctive architectural features while providing a modern, high-quality finish. Most of the apartments were designed to benefit from private outdoor space, complemented by beautifully finished communal gardens, and Seán Doyle Painting Contractors contributed to enhancing both the interior and exterior spaces, ensuring a seamless integration of modern design with the historic charm of the original structure.
